The ISO 9002 norm
The ISO 9002 certification means for the stone division
of Diamant Boart the acknowledgement of quality and care applied
for 60 years.
Diamant Boart has continually endeavoured to satisfy the needs of
its customers in the potential to supply quality as much as in the
consistency of this quality.
In order to meet these requirements, Diamant Boart has built up
its quality system based on the ISO 9002 norm which applies to all
the activities related to the quality and the service of a product.
It implies all the phases: from the identification of customer's
requirements to their final satisfaction.
ISO 9002 quality system includes therefore the quality control
but also a global quality assurance program designed to ensure
that every person in the company works according to requested
procedures to provide adequate confidence that a product or service
will satisfy given requirements for quality.
Some outstanding
contributions to industry
One of the first
and most important contributions
by Diamant Boart to the marble
industry was the introduction
in 1955 of the diamond blade,
a tool which nowadays equips
thousands of applications throughout
the world.
This achievement was repeated some fifteen
years later with the introduction of the
first blades using synthetic diamonds.
The development of the first diamond-impregnated
wire was another important contribution
by Diamant Boart to the stone cutting industry.
There were in succession: the electro-deposited
wire (1968), diamond impregnated wires
for marble (1980) and for granite (1985).
The diamond impregnated shoes for surface
finishing/polishing (currently under development)
will also constitute a major contribution
by the Company to the stone-cutting industry.
Also to be mentioned the silent saw blades
for granite, coal-cutting belts, and saw
blades welded made by laser micro fusion.
The latter, which offer the advantage of
dry working, have been equipping all kinds
of portable cut-off saws used on building
sites since 1984.
The particularly high standards of precision
of our rotary trueing attachments (particularly
those of the inverse galvanic type) today
represent the reputation of Diamant Boart
wherever precision and mass-production
are the prime objectives.
